Dr. Alex Ferenczy is Professor of Pathology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University, and Director of Gynecologic Pathology and Cytopathology at Montreal's Jewish General Hospital.
He is involved in clinical trials on prophylactic vaccines against HPV as part of pathology panels, cervical cancer screening using molecular technology, and medical therapy with selective progesterone receptor modulators for uterine fibroids.
He was honoured for his outstanding contribution in the field of papillomavirus research at the 26th International Papillomavirus Conference, Montreal in July 2010.
He has published in numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals and is a co-author of medical textbooks, including Blaustein's Pathology of the Female Genital Tract and Comprehensive Color Atlas of Cervical Colposcopy.
