The Annual JGH Department of Psychiatry Research Day aims at showcasing the latest developments in psychiatry research at the Institute of Community and Family Psychiatry (ICFP) and within the Psychosocial Aspects of Disease research axis at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research (LDI). Its main goal is to demonstrate how this research can improve health care and patient outcomes. It also seeks to engage in a dialogue with health professionals, trainees and students from many disciplines (medicine, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, etc.), to create partnerships that can lead to new research projects that can benefit patients and practitioners.
Usually held in March or April of each year, the Psychiatry Research Day is a half-day event open to health professionals in the hospital and the wider community. Each Research Day has a theme, with presentations by three or four psychiatry researchers and a discussant. Recent topics include diversity in patient populations, the use of technology in mental health services, youth at risk, and mental health problems in medical patients.
The Annual JGH Department of Psychiatry Research Day is held in hybrid mode – via Zoom or in person at the ICFP Amphitheatre (4333, St. Catherine Road, Montreal, Quebec, H3T 1E4) of the JGH, from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
Each presentation runs approximately 30 minutes, and the event concludes with a 45-minute Q&A period. Registration is requested, but not required.
This event is an accredited group learning activity as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and benefits from the generous support of the Gustav Levinschi Foundation.
