Snapshot

My research program concerns the metabolic health of women of reproductive age. Specifically, we employ clinical and genetic epidemiology approaches to investigate risk factors for and heterogeneity in the clinical phenotype of polycystic ovary syndrome and gestational diabetes, with an aim toward developing interventions for prevention and treatment.

Major Research Activities

Current projects include:

  • Evaluating the protective role of physical activity in the risk of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS);
  • Determining the safety and efficacy of exercise and physical activity for pregnant women with diabetes;
  • Reassessing the diagnostic thresholds for gestational diabetes.
