Snapshot

My research program is focused on improving the accuracy of traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injury surveillance using administrative health data. I employ latent class modelling and Bayesian methods to circumvent challenges in using administrative health data to complete spinal cord injury surveillance. By having improved surveillance using administrative health data, better assessments of the injury burden are possible using widely-accessible and relatively inexpensive data. Furthermore, these improved spinal cord injury surveillance methods provide a means to complete valid and efficient epidemiologic research that investigates interventions that mitigate the spinal cord injury burden.
