URGENT NOTICE – NEW COVID-19 GUIDELINES

Until further notice, in order to ensure the safety of all LDI personnel, new guidelines are in place for the flow cytometry core facility.

Please click here for the PHASE 2 guidelines and read carefully. Your access to these facilities will be revoked if you do not adhere to these new guidelines.

This service is centered around cutting-edge capabilities, including:

ONCOLOGY ECHOSONOGRAPHY
The LDI Phenotyping Core can measure tumor
dimensions and volume in 2D or 3D with time
using the non-invasive VEVO 770 ultrasound
machine and analysis software. A cine-loop of
the tumor, tree of blood, and angiogenesis of
primary and metastatic tumors is available.

ANIMAL BODY/ORGAN ULTRASOUND
The LDI Phenotyping core can measure the size and volume of selected organs in 2D or 3D with time using the
non-invasive VEVO 770 ultrasound machine and analysis software. Angiogenesis in selected organs is available.

ECHOSONOGRAPHY OF VESSELS
The LDI Phenotyping Core can measure the vascular remodeling,
intima / media thickness, and lumen diameter
and thrombus formation in large arteries using the non-invasive
VEVO 770 ultrasound machine and analysis software.

EMBRYOLOGY / DEVELOPMENT
The LDI Phenotyping core can view the number and size of
established fetal implants in mice in 2D or 3D using
the non-invasive VEVO 770 ultrasound machine and analysis
software.

CARDIAC STRUCTURE / FUNCTION ANALYSIS NON-INVASIVE IMAGING
The LDI Phenotyping core can collect and analyze cardiac structure and measure systolic and diastolic function in mice.
Available instrumentation includes:

VEVO 770 ultrasound machine and analysis software,
cross-section of the left ventricle and determination
of left ventricular contractility.

INVASIVE ANALYSIS
The Phenotyping Core can collect and analyse intracardiac
pressure and pressure/volume relationships with Millar
microcatheters and computerized physiograph from EMKA
data collection and analysis software.

BLOOD PRESSURE ANALYSIS
The LDI Phenotyping core can collect and analyse diastolic, systolic, mean arterial blood pressure,
heart rate, cycle duration and dichrotic notch pressure in mice and rats. Blood pressure can be measured
invasively using telemetry, or non-invasively, by tail cuff in mice and rats.
Data can be analyzed with either the DATA Science or ECG AUTO software by the Rodent Phenotyping Core
or the users.
Available instrumentation includes DATA Science telemetry probes and software and Hatteras non-anesthetized
tail cuff blood pressure data collection and analysis software.

METABOLIC ASSESSMENT
The LDI Phenotyping and Surgery Core staff can measure water and food consumption, and urine and fecal output using metabolic cages.

DISSECTION MICROPHOTOGRAPHY
The Rodent Phenotyping Core can acquire images of organs in situ in animals using a camera attached to a Leica M651 operating
microscope.
The images collected can be analyzed with the Infinity Analysis software to measure the length or surface and to annotate images
by the Phenotyping Core or the users.
