Full-time Clinical Research Nurse

Full-time Study Coordinator

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) of the LDI at the Jewish General Hospital, which is amongst the leading clinical research units in Canada for Phase I and II clinical trials in oncology and malignant hematology, is looking for a full-time Clinical Research Nurse. The Nurse will conduct oncology trials/ hematology trials in an ambulatory research clinic, perform study required procedures and administer investigational drugs and chemotherapy according to protocol standards. The ideal candidate is a RN/ BSc. N and current OIIQ member with a minimum of one-year experience in a medical setting.

Full-time Research Assistant

Full-time Study Coordinator

The (Developmental Research in Early Adversity Mental health BIological susceptibility and Gender (DREAM BIG) consortium, led by Dr Ashley Wazana at the lady Davis institute – Jewish General Hospital,  is seeking a dynamic individual with a Developmental Neuroscience (genetics, neuroimaging) background who is well versed in large-scale statistical modelling. The position’s primary role is data analysis of the DREAM BIG database. The successful applicant will also be involved in manuscript and grant preparation. 

The ideal candidate holds a MA/MSc or higher in neuroscience developmental or clinical psychology, or a related degree in social and behavioral or health sciences; has knowledge of advanced statistical modelling using R, MATLAB, Phyton, SPSS, SAS; and has  experience with genetic and/or neuroimaging.

Salary: $50,000 – $80,000/annually in accordance with qualifications and experience (plus benefits)
Hours: 35 hours per week — Flexible working hours with both in-person (Centre for Child Development and Mental Health at the Lady Davis Institute – Jewish General Hospital) and remote working conditions with a significant level of autonomy.

Full-time Postdoctoral Fellow

Full-time Study Coordinator

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will play a key role in the design, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of projects and their results aimed at improving precision oncology in the field of gynecological cancers. He/she will actively contribute to projects involving wet lab (preclinical studies/models, cell culture, animal studies) and dry lab (cancer genomics and pathology) studies. Through these contributions, the Postdoctoral Fellow will gain experience in conducting biomedical studies as well as participatory research with collaborators. Duties include working directly with the lab head(s) to design, develop and execute bench experiments; leading individual and collaborative projects; analyzing and synthesizing experimental results autonomously (tables, figures, etc.) to derive scientific conclusions; and mentoring trainees in the team.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD with a background in biomedical/epigenetic/immunology sciences, or a related field and has essential wet lab skills such as cell culture, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, Western blotting, immunostaining, etc. with extensive experience with in vitro assays.

Under the responsibility of the Human Resources Supervisor of the Lady-Davis Institute, the candidate will have the task of on-boarding new personnel (employees and trainees) as well as changes, terminations and leave of absence requisitions. The candidate will be expected to aid researchers in gathering various documents in order to create an employee or trainee file onto the LDI-HR Database. The candidate will be responsible for gathering information required by funding agencies, universities, etc.  The candidate will also act as a liaison with Health Services and Payroll Department.

The ideal candidate holds a College (DEC) studies in administrative field (preferred) and has excellent secretarial skills, including a strong working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Full-time Clinical Research Coordinator/Research assistant

Full-time Study Coordinator

Under the direction of Dr. Vicky Tagalakis and thrombosis clinical researchers Drs. Hirsch, Kahn and Simard, at the Centre of Excellence in Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Care (CETAC) of the Jewish General Hospital, the Clinical Research Coordinator/Research Assistant will perform duties associated with the day-to-day management of thrombosis clinical trials and observational studies conducted at the JGH site. This will involve recruitment and follow-up of patients, record keeping, and communications with the central study site, adhering to principles of good clinical practice (GCP).

The ideal candidate holds at a minimum an undergraduate or higher degree in health-related field and must have work experience in clinical research that involves direct patient contact (do not apply if you lack this experience).

Full-time Research Assistant for the DEPRESSD and COVID-19 LSR Projects

Full-time Study Coordinator

The DEPRESsion Screening Data (DEPRESSD) Project (https://www.depressd.ca), a collaborative endeavor set up by Drs. Brett Thombs and Andrea Benedetti, who partnered with local and international experts to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of depression screening tools by conducting individual participant data meta-analyses (IPDMAs), is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to join the team. The tasks of the Analytical Research Coordinator will include reviewing scientific publications and screening articles for eligibly as part of the systematic review process; extracting published results based on pre-developed coding manuals; basic data analysis, including transforming raw participant data into a uniform format for use in the project, based on existing codebooks; verifying that data submitted to the project can be used to replicate the results from the original studies; and contributing to drafting manuscripts for publication.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or other relevant field. Research experience in the health sciences, including data management, evidence synthesis and manuscript writing is an asset.

Full-time Junior Engineer - Artificial Intelligence

Full-time Study Coordinator

The laboratory of Dr. Alan Spatz in the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University and located at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research of the Jewish General Hospital is currently seeking a talented engineer to join an exciting research project. This position will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to drive innovation and make a real-world impact in the healthcare system. The engineer will help shape our AI strategy to predict early-stage clinical treatment, survival of the patient, clinical cancer diagnostic, personalized medicine for cancer patients and help pathologists to provide results quicker by using patient’s digital tissue information. This position will use ML to develop new applications and algorithms to guide and achieve this goal with the help of digital tissue section images of different type of cancers and clinical information of the patient. Developed algorithms will be used in the clinic as a diagnostic tool showing the potential of AI to support the healthcare system.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Computer Science or any other applicable field (Data Science, Bioinformatics or related field) and has 1-2 years’ experience minimum experience as an AI Engineer or ML learning in a similar role.

Part-time Research Coordinator

The Research Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting a federally funded research project on scaling up point-of-care hepatitis C testing and treatment in Canada. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the project, coordinate research activities, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a national initiative with a strong focus on equity and innovation in healthcare delivery.

The Research Coordinator’s main tasks include coordinating submissions to and communications with Research Ethics Boards (REBs); managing research activities, including participant recruitment, data collection, and data management across multiple provinces and; developing and maintaining study protocols, standard operating procedures, and training materials for point-of-care hepatitis C testing and treatment. The ideal candidate holds  a degree and licensure to practice in a healthcare-related profession (e.g., RN),  and/or a master’s degree (completed or near completion) in Public Health, Health Services Research, Nursing, or a related field and has at least 1 year of experience in research assistantship or research coordination, preferably in healthcare or implementation science.

Full-time Research Assistant

Full-time Study Coordinator

The Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research (LDI) is seeking applicants for a full-time research assistant position in the Montreal Immune-Related Adverse Events (MIRAE) team. The purpose of the MIRAE study is to facilitate research on immune-related adverse events (irAEs) secondary to immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), and traditional autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. Currently the MIRAE study is using multi-omic single cell technologies, and other high-throughput assays, to profile immune cells in the blood and tissue lesions of ICI-treated cancer patients, as well as to identify clinically relevant soluble immune factors in their plasma.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for identifying eligible participants for the MIRAE study among the cancer patients treated with ICI-therapy in the JGH; obtaining informed consent for the biobanking of biological specimens, and the accessing of patient’s clinical data under the Health Canada GCP guidelines; blood processing for plasma separation, PBMC isolation, and subsequent storage and documentation in the ATiM database; preparing samples for the different MIRAE projects (e.g., gDNA and RNA isolation, PBMC stimulation assays); designing and performing experiments to test different sample processing and storage conditions adapted to specific downstream applications; and collecting and analyzing relevant clinical parameters. The ideal candidate holds a minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree and has 2 years’ experience working in a research lab.

Full-time Post-doctoral Fellow

Full-time Study Coordinator

MITACS funds are available for the recruitment for a post-doctoral fellow, that will oversee large scale efficacy of targeted multi-walled carbon nanotubes for the photothermal ablation of xenograft prostate cancer tumors. As part of our route towards development of the technology for clinical applicability as a photothermal treatment for prostate cancer (PCa), we will be determining the efficacy of our Glu-urea-Lys-MWCNT nanoformulation platform by assessing tumor recurrence and disease-free outcomes The Glu-urea-Lys-MWCNT formulation uses a peptidomimetic compound that binds to the Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA); a PCa-specific surface receptor whose expression is correlated with disease onset and progression. The ideal candidate will have PhD and strong working experience with animal handling.
