Laurence J. Kirmayer, Senior Investigator at the LDI, Director of the Culture and Mental Health Research Unit at the Jewish General Hospital, and Director of the Division of Social & Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill University, was appointed Distinguished James McGill Professor (DJMP) in recognition of his exceptional work and outstanding achievements. The DJMP is McGill’s highest honor and recognizes a late-career scholar’s sustained scholarship of world-class caliber and international leadership, similar to that of a Canada Research Chair (CRC) Tier 1.
