Research Contracts Office

The Legal Affairs Services (Research Contracts Office) is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements concerning research projects conducted at the LDI that need to be signed with external institutions, organizations, or private companies. These agreements, include confidentiality agreements, clinical trial agreements, data/material transfer agreements, research collaboration agreements, and service agreements. The Legal Affairs Services ensures that these research agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, governmental directives, funding agency requirements, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.

To avail themselves of these services, LDI researchers must submit their requests for contracts on the Research Contract Management System (password required).

Additionally, the Legal Affairs Services address legal questions pertaining to signed contracts and, more generally, LDI research activities (e.g., intellectual property) and can provide legal advice accordingly.
