The LDI provides research-specific and general administrative support to trainees and their supervisors through its various departments: Communications; Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI); Finance; Health and Safety; Human Resources; Information Management; Information Technology and Technical Support; Legal Affairs; Purchasing; Research Ethics; Research Grants; and Seminars & Events. The LDI Directory, accessible via the LDI Portal only (Password required), provides a comprehensive listing of the most frequently requested services or departments.

Communication with trainees is maintained via e-mail, social media pages, and dedicated bulletin boards and TV screens throughout the LDI. The LDI Research Newsletter, distributed bimonthly by email, covers a variety of topics such as celebrating trainee achievements (i.e., published papers, defended theses, talks given or prizes won at meetings, etc.), upcoming funding competitions, and trainee educational opportunities. It also highlights news and editorials about trainee life, articles to help developing researchers get the most out of their training experience at the LDI, tips on career development, and research training opportunities within and outside of the LDI.

The LDI Trainee Committee supports trainees throughout their journey at the LDI. Opportunities include academic and professional development workshops, social events, wellness activities, useful resources, as well as engagement and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
